A New Page in Solihull Council or just more of the Previous Page?
Was there, really, no one else in all of the U.K. to clear out the rot and start afresh with Solihull Social Services?
Following the feedback by Ofsted on November 11, 2022, the initial response of Council leaders was that they had been misled about the situation leading them to believe things were better than Ofsted reported. That is a fundamentally flawed view which demonstrated their ineffective oversight of improvement... The Chief Executive [Nick Page, Jan 2023] has since resigned.

Johnson has become chief executive following one of the most tumultuous periods in the council's history. Critics will say he was part of a senior management team that oversaw a dramatic decline in children's services.
When asked why he wanted the job, Johnson said he believed he could turn the ship around. "I think I can deliver," he said. "It's a bold statement but we've made changes."

38.The self-assessment provided as part of this inspection process was weak and inaccurate. It was not reflective of the poor quality of practice inspectors have seen and does not provide leaders with an understanding of the urgent improvements required. Although leaders were aware of some of the shortfalls, they were not fully aware of the systemic and widespread concerns until this inspection.
